A seasoned financial professional with hands-on experience in Corporate Treasury, Financial Planning & Analysis and Corporate Finance. Her areas of expertise include corporate finance, financial statement analysis and leveraged buyout analysis.

CURRENT POSITION

Valisha is an Executive Director on the Strategic Client Onboarding Product Development team at Morgan Stanley. She leads the One Client initiative and the use of client centric data to help drive the Advisory, Digital, Investment Solutions Wealth Management businesses. Since joining Morgan Stanley in 2005 she has been responsible for the definition, development and delivery of a range of Fintech applications – equity derivatives, equity valuation, business supply chain, profitability analytics, LBO and cross asset analytics – that provide client investment insights.

PAST POSITIONS

She was formerly a senior analyst with RateFinancials, a private, independent equity research firm that ranked and rated the financial reporting, earnings quality and corporate governance of S&P 500 companies. She was a Vice President in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) at Lehman Brothers where she managed a team responsible for daily revenue reporting, financial modeling and budgeting. She introduced risk-adjusted metrics RAROC (risk-adjusted return on capital) and EVA (Economic Value Added) to a conventional financial reporting unit. Use of these metrics resulted in post-IPO ROE improvement to double from single digits, on par with Lehman`s peers and the eventual creation of a global risk equity allocation initiative. She was a Manager in Ernst & Young's Financial Services consulting practice. She began her career at National Westminster Bank working for the Chief Economist and in Strategic Planning. While working in the Treasury Group her team built an asset/liability computer simulation model to manage the bank`s interest rate risk. Her team identified interest rate hedging strategies, recommended proprietary trading strategies using financial futures and options for the $30 billion derivatives portfolio. She also marketed fixed income, derivative and foreign exchange products to middle-market customers.
