Building a 21st Century Investment Portfolio using Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) - Virtual Recording

As we enter the second decade of the 21st Century, Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) can be a valuable component for any investor's portfolio, from the most sophisticated institutional money managers to a novice investor who is just getting started. But, as with any other investment vehicle, in order to truly benefit from ETFs, investors have to understand and use them appropriately. According to the latest research from Mintel, a provider of business information, more than six in 10 investors say they don't invest in ETFs simply because they ''don't know what they are.'' Yet in the past three years ETF assets have grown from $150 billion to $1 trillion. Clearly all investors need to know about ETFs now because they are such an important part of the market.

Because ETFs offer a number of advantages, such as the ability to trade intra-day or to hedge the investment using instruments such as options, it is likely that growth in total ETF assets will continue at the expense of competitive products, like mutual funds.

This session will include discussion of U.S. equities, emerging markets, frontier markets, commodities, precious and industrial metals, and fixed income.
