Anton Mallner specializes in credit policy and portfolio review including loan loss provision, regulatory coordination, special credits and vetting of lending initiatives.
In his most recent position at Amalgamated Bank, Mr. Mallner introduced programs to foster a new credit culture, created de novo a credit and analytical unit, wrote the Banks first Strategic Business Plan and Credit Policy Manual, developed and implemented a complete credit based reporting system to manage the Banks lending portfolios and instituted portfolio purchase programs to increase the Banks loan/deposit ratio. In his role as Chief Credit Officer, Mr. Mallner Chaired the Banks Credit Policy Committee and the Investment Committee. He was also a member of various other senior level Bank committees.
Prior to his position at Amalgamated Bank, Mr. Mallner worked in Chase Manhattan Banks International Department where he was responsible for business development in Latin America. After a number of increasingly responsible assignments in the Latin American area, he was relocated to Chases affiliate in Saudi Arabia (The Saudi Investment Banking Corp.), where he set up and taught a complete credit and banking training program to instruct Saudi nationals on all aspects of banking and credit. He also managed SIBCs Eastern Region branch and created SIBCs Credit Policy Guide to ensure sound lending practices.
After leaving Saudi Arabia, he returned to New York and Miami as a credit and loan portfolio review officer responsible for all phases of credit asset review and approval. In these positions he was called upon to evaluate many of the Banks credit portfolios and recommend policy changes and initiatives. He was also involved in a number of special projects to enhance the Banks position in various work-out situations.
Mr. Mallner has also participated in banking seminars at Commercial International Bank (Egypt) and banking lectures at Baruch College (Graduate Division).
Mr. Mallner has broad banking experience, with strong accomplishments in credit policy direction, risk asset and loan review, portfolio management, business development and all aspects of credit and lending training.
