Dr. Henry is a dynamic and energetic businessman with extensive experience in the areas of asset management (equity & fixed-income analyses and portfolio management), business consulting, government and higher education. Presently, Dr. Henry is a Special Situations Analyst at Schafer Cullen Capital Management, Inc., an asset management firm situated in midtown Manhattan with over $4.5B under management. He also is an adjunct professor in the Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College teaching at night both undergraduate and graduate level courses in economics and finance.
In the mid-1990's, Dr. Henry was Chief Economist of the Treasury of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. As the number two man in the Investment Division of the Pennsylvania Treasury, Dr. Henry managed an operations staff of over 40 people, supervised its trading desk, assisted in the setting-up of its securities lending area and grew AUM nearly $400MM.
In the past, he has advised foreign governments and various businesses, providing both practical advice and analyses in the area of currency risk management. He presently is an advisor to one of Canada's leading oil and gas energy trusts.
Dr. Henry is a quantitative monetary economist (to include international economics & finance) and is a current expert. Years ago he achieved celebrity status somewhat with his empirical work on the Purchasing Power Parity Theory of Foreign Exchange and its application to the Yen/$US exchange-ratio. Dr. Henry was the first to systematize U.S. monetary thought into one or more complete theories of money an credit.
